Riverdance was Electric!
I have been waiting to see the performance in person since I saw the 1996 VHS of Laufey the show. It was even better than I wondered it would be as exciting as it was for me years ago. More than anything, I still love "Trading Taps." It blends the high stepping rhythm of Irish step dance with the smooth sounds of jazz. Appreciating the beauty and similarities of these types of dance was helped by seeing them side by side. There were my old favorite songs interpreted by a beautiful soprano, and I knew most of the words. However, there were also some fresh moments such as Shivna that hadn't appeared on the VHS. At the end of the show, a standing ovation was given by me and most of the audience.
